BBC Icon Jude Tindall, Passes Away Weeks After Filming New Show.

Jude Tindall, known for her work on BBC hits like Shakespeare & Hathaway and Sister Boniface Mysteries, passed away in August 2024 just weeks after filming began for the fourth season of Sister Boniface Mysteries, which will feature Les Dennis.

BBC Studios released a statement honoring Tindall: “We’re sorry to share the news of the sad passing of the much-loved creator of Sister Boniface, co-creator of Shakespeare & Hathaway, and master of cosy crime, Jude Tindall. She was a brilliant writer who scripted countless episodes of Sister Boniface, Father Brown, Casualty, Land Girls, and Doctors. Her passion for her shows and her generosity in nurturing the next generation of writers and producers will be deeply missed.”

In her memory, the first episode of Sister Boniface Mysteries Season 1 will be dedicated to her. UKTV channel U&Dave also honored Tindall, extending their condolences and inviting fans to share their fondest memories of her work.

Fans have expressed their sorrow, remembering Tindall’s contributions to television. She had recently spoken about her excitement for the return of Sister Boniface Mysteries and her plans to bring actress Lorna Watson back to the role.
