American actress, singer, dancer, and vaudevillian Judy Garland (June 10, 1922 – June 22, 1969). She was widely recognized for playing Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz (1939), while receiving praise for numerous other parts she played throughout her career. She became an internationally renowned recording singer, concert performer, and actor in both dramatic and musical roles. She won a Special Tony Award, a Golden Globe Award, and an Academy Juvenile Award.

She is well known for her versatility. Judy at Carnegie Hall, a 1961 live performance that Garland won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year for, made her the first female recipient of the honor.
