Alexa Nikolas, an American YouTuber and former actress, made headlines in March 2021 when she accused her ex-husband, Canadian musician Mike Milosh, of grooming and sexual abuse.

The allegations were detailed in a five-part social media post, where Nikolas recounted their relationship, which began when she was a minor.

Nikolas claimed that she and Milosh first connected on MySpace, initially exchanging mutual compliments. However, their interaction quickly escalated into explicit texts and video calls.

According to Nikolas, when she turned 18, Milosh invited her to Berlin, where he was on tour, and coerced her into a sexual relationship despite her resistance. “I did not respect my no and neither did he,” Nikolas wrote on Instagram.

The relationship led to marriage when Nikolas was 19 and Milosh was 36. Nikolas alleged that Milosh used the marriage to secure an American visa and accused him of financial exploitation, physical assault, and gaslighting during their four-year marriage.

She also claimed that Milosh used a recording of her saying “no” during sex in his song “Don’t Call It” and that his songs “Woman” and “Major Minor Love” were inspired by their tumultuous relationship.

Milosh denied the allegations, calling them “absurd and outrageous false claims” and “a piece of revisionist fiction.” He expressed willingness to cooperate with any independent investigation and stated that he had supported Nikolas financially even after their divorce, only stopping when he was no longer required to.

In August 2021, Nikolas filed a civil suit against Milosh, accusing him of sexual battery, gender violence, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and violating California’s Tom Bane Civil Rights Act.

However, she dropped the lawsuit in May 2022. Following this, Milosh countersued Nikolas for $10 million in defamation, claiming her accusations were unfounded and emerged after he stopped paying spousal support.

He also filed a lawsuit against Nikolas’s lawyers for “malicious prosecution,” describing the case as “frivolous” and without “legal basis or factual support.”

In February 2023, Milosh’s countersuit was dismissed during a court hearing, effectively ending the legal battle between the former couple.
